fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

The only way to run the race of life successfully is to look to Jesus, because He set the course. He ran the race successfully, and we become one of many to follow Him. We are not here to be envious of our fellow travelers, but to help them find their God-given identities. Our motivation is the joy set before us; future redemption. We must determine how we will live. If we will look at the nature of the suffering of Jesus and the outcome, we will persevere and not faint with the relentlessness of our battle. Perhaps we should remember that there is more to our journey than this life and this world. I guarantee you, more is coming!
