“Therefore, behold, I will hedge up her way with thorns, And I will build a wall against her so that she cannot find her paths. “She will pursue her lovers, but she will not overtake them; And she will seek them, but will not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go back to my first husband, For it was better for me then than now!’

14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness And speak kindly to her.”

In Hosea’s story, God made sin unfulfilling for Gomer. She said, “I will go back to my husband as at first for then I was better off than now.” God seeks to restore His people. He may discipline us, but it brings restoration. Sometimes we must be knocked flat on our backs before we look up. If we make proper changes, God will transform our hearts. Do you need to make some changes?
