12 A glorious throne on high from the beginning Is the place of our sanctuary. 13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You will be put to shame. Those who turn away on earth will be written down, Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the Lord. 14 Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved, For You are my praise.

This world is full of darkness and sometimes the impending doom of judgment tempts us to fear. That was certainly true for Jeremiah as he delivered the warnings of God to His people. The good news is fear and trembling do not have the last word. The throne of God reminds us of His sovereignty. God is in control for He is the God of judgment and the God of refuge. His Spirit dwells in us so we can say to God, “Heal me, O Lord; and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise” as we plant our feet in obedience and keep a sense of God’s faithfulness.
