14 “For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.

The man talked about here is Jesus Christ; the journey symbolizes the delay of the second coming. The talents represented are financial resources, gifts, talents, and opportunities God has given. Lastly, the men whom the talents were entrusted with are disciples. God has given us many resources in our lives, we must use them for His glory and that alone. Often times we compare our gifts, resources, and many God-given things to that of others. We each have been given unique traits and ways in which we can bring God glory, therefore we should improve those gifts and be honored that God has entrusted us with them. Be thankful for what God has given and use it to grow the kingdom of God.
