62 Now on the next day, the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, 63 and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am to rise again.’

Fear dominated the actions of these men who hounded Jesus to the cross and now will spare no effort to make sure He stays dead. Because they were afraid to die, they thought the worst thing they could do to Jesus was to kill Him. They were helpless to alter God’s plan, and even became part of fulfilling it. How does the confidence Jesus displayed help you live in faith and not fear?
