11 May 1 Peter 3:13-16

13 Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

Do not miss the implications of the call that sent Jonah running away from God. When we become Christians, God begins to transform our character into the image of His Son. He uses numerous ways to build character in us, but first, He must transform our self-concern and get us moving toward loving people and sharing the reason for the hope that we have. The Gospel is not our own private possession. One day a sad, gloomy man finds a music box. When he opens the box, it plays music that transforms his life to one of joy and gladness. Now, his family and co-workers live in the same gloomy world that he does, and they can’t figure out what in him has changed. One night and angel appears to him and says, “You can’t keep it to yourself, it was meant to be shared”. So, he begins to open the music box for everyone, even strangers in the street. And the joy grew.
