10 Dec 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
The Thessalonians were afraid; afraid of false teachings, afraid they had missed Jesus’ return, afraid they would not receive the gift of eternal life with Jesus. Have you ever been afraid; afraid of bullies, afraid of storms, afraid of creatures in your closet? Look at the comfort and peace Paul wrote of to not only the Thessalonians, but to us as well – love, comfort, hope, and strength through Jesus Christ and God the Father! It doesn’t mean you will never be scared, but turning your life to Christ can bring you that same comfort and hope and strength that Paul enjoyed in spite of everything that happened to him. Pray that Jesus would bring you His comfort and strength.
