17 Nov Acts 17:16
16 Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was being provoked within him as he was observing the city full of idols.
Athens was a very different kind of city! Paul seemed to be surrounded by idols of various gods. You may have heard the names of Zeus, Hera, Athena, Mercury and others. Paul was looking at the temples for the gods, their statues, and the idols. People in Athens also spent much of their time talking about the gods they worshipped, old and new gods alike. Paul was not only disturbed by the gods, but he also saw an opportunity. He wanted to bring them the one, true God! Do you think the people of Athens would listen? Would people listen to you if you talked about Jesus? Can you pray tonight about who God wants you to tell about Jesus?
