18 Nov Acts 17:23

23 “For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.”

The people of Athens worshipped many, many gods, but Paul noticed one altar in particular. The Athenians set one up to an unknown god and Paul used it to preach about the one true God. You see, the Athenians were a highly intelligent people. However, Paul said they were ignorant about who they were worshipping – because they hadn’t heard of the one true God! Paul was there to tell them about our Creator, and His Son, Jesus. It’s important for us to not allow “things” to become “other” gods, idols, or objects of worship in our lives. Are worshipping and praying only to the one true God?
