05 Apr Matthew 3:1

1Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

This week we were re-introduced to Jesus’ cousin, John the Baptist. We haven’t heard about him since he was born, but he is very, very important. He fulfilled prophecy by preparing the way for the Lord. John preached a message of repentance and baptism to get the people ready to meet Jesus. What does repentance mean to you? Do you need to repent of anything? (Think hard! Have you ever been disobedient to your parents!? Might need to talk to Jesus about that!)
