21 Jul Ephesians 4:15-16, Matthew 5:13-16
15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
We are the body of Christ, but we are also God’s children. Not submitting to Him makes spoiled children. With these benefits, we should love and serve together. Give yourself to God and each other in the church, then go to the world. So, we are not independent as far as the body concept is concerned. We are part of the body that unites two other parts. We are one who nurtures, sustains, passes orders from the Head, and provides elasticity to the body. Where you are, the church. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Let your light shine.
