02 Mar #HopeWithinMe – What’s your life verse?
Welcome to week 2 of the #HopeWithinMe campaign! As promised, this is a continuation of the 1 Peter 3:15 effort to practice “giving an account for the hope that is within us.”
Last week, we asked about your playlist (music). This week, it is God’s Word. Scripture is powerful! In fact, the author of Hebrews tells us it’s “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword” and able to discern the thoughts and actions of our hearts. It is truly powerful to hear God’s speak hope into one’s life via Scripture.
So here is the question: What is your life verse, and why? What is the verse that God has pinned to your heart that speaks clearly about who God is and what He has done (or is going) in your life? If you have more than one, awesome – share away! I’m looking forward to seeing how God’s Word is providing hope, purpose, joy, and strength in the lives of His children.
What is Joe’s life verse?
My life verse is James 1:12. Here’s what it says:
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. (ESV)
If you know my testimony, you understand the encouragement I found (and still find) in God’s promise to bless those who “persevere under trial.” (Similar to Romans 8:28, another great promise from Almighty God.)
It’s easy for you to share your life verse with your friends. Share it on your social network of choice along with #HopeWithinMe. Happy posting!
This post is the second of five in the “Hope Within Me” series, written by Joe Greenhaw. Posts will be released each Tuesday as Easter Sunday approaches.
