12 Sep John 1: 1-3,14
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Our words reveal to others our hearts and minds. Jesus Christ is God’s, “Word” and thus reveals His heart and mind to us. One commentator said, “Jesus Christ is the, ‘Eternal Word,’ the, ‘Creative Word,’ and the, ‘Incarnate Word.’” That means, He existed in the beginning, He was a part of creation, and He came to the earth in the flesh. So, this great and mighty God took upon Himself the sin of the world, after identifying with us in every aspect of life from birth to death. While He was here, He revealed the glory of God in His person, His works, and His words. It is amazing to know that what the old covenant of law could not do, Jesus did. The law could reveal sin and Jesus can remove sin. Why do you think people today are so blinded to their hatred and disobedience to God? How do you think God feels when He sees His creation reject His Son? What is your motivation to live a life that is pleasing to God?
