15 Sep John 1: 15-18
15 John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’” 16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him
John is the voice that is charged with the task of telling the world how much better the One who is coming will be. He had to humble himself and be willing to allow Jesus to take center stage. John must understand the limitations of his ministry. Every leader in the church must follow this example: remember who you are and that it is Jesus who is to have the glory. He is the One who supplies all our needs out of His inexhaustible supply. We know Jesus is full of grace and truth. Think about those two things. We know Jesus is the only way and we know He provides all we need to travel on the road where He is leading. The main truth is through Jesus, we can know the Father. Now what do you have that can top that?
