21 Jul John 1:1-3; Isaiah 55:10-11
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
It is a wonder that God would speak, because His speech was a creative, awesome moment. All creation was called into existence by the word of the Lord and the Scripture celebrates repeatedly the power of God’s creative word. The only thing that is permanent and lasting in our world of constant change is the word of God. What implications do you see in God’s unchanging word?
