23 Apr John 20:11-13
11 But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb; 12 and she *saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She *said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
To overcome your fear, trust is always the antidote. Plus, if you have a small pinhole of doubt in the truth of the resurrection, listen to the witness of others. Luke states that Jesus remained on this earth 40 days after His resurrection. Most of this time, He was in Jerusalem where the crucifixion facts are known best. In Galilee, He appeared to 500 at one time. The Lord’s brother, James, who refused to believe in Him during the time of His earthly ministry, became the leading figure in the church in Jerusalem, because Jesus appeared to him after His death. Paul persecuted Christians until he saw the crucified Jesus alive. Peter stood boldly in the face of death in front of the very ones he had denied Christ to before Jesus’ resurrection. Nearly every disciple died for their faith. We proclaim Jesus as a witness as well. Have you seen Him work powerfully in your life? Then you stand as a witness of the validity of the resurrection and the power of Christ to redeem and transform lives.
