30 Apr John 3:14

14“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up…”

Jesus reminded Nicodemus, a Pharisee, of the time in the Old Testament when the Hebrews could only be rescued by looking at the bronze snake lifted high. Like the Hebrews, we also are in trouble, for all of us “have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”(Romans 3:23) Jesus is telling Nicodemus and everyone else that HE also will be lifted up on the cross to die for our sins. During the conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish…” (John 3:16) Are you ready to believe in Jesus?
