04 May John 4:7-9

7There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, ‘Give Me a drink.’ ….Therefore the Samaritan woman said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)

The Samaritan woman would have seen Jesus long before she got to the well. Do you think she was confused by a man sitting by the well? What do think she was thinking when Jesus actually spoke to her!? This was HUGE! A man speaking to a woman was bad enough, but a Jewish male speaking to a Samaritan was literally crazy. Jesus tore down racial and cultural barriers by merely asking for a drink of water. Talk with your family about how you can tear down barriers between people in Jesus’ name.
