28 Sep Luke 10:8-9

Whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you; and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

In life, many of us know someone who has gotten some type of life threating sickness. As a community of believers, we each have a duty in this regards as Jesus taught the disciples in these verses. He had sent the disciples out in pairs to do ministry, instructing them to “heal the sick who are there and tell them, the kingdom of God has come for you. Jesus had given them instruction, but also the power to heal. In our society, we rely on the Holy Spirit and Jesus in regards to the healing, but that does not mean we cannot be used. We must walk with those who are sick, share our experiences with them, pray with them, but mostly love them. The impact we can have on someone’s life by showing that we care, can go along way when someone is dealing with something as such.
