19 “Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day. 20 And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,

Luke paints a picture of two completely different social classes. He first talks about the rich man, his clothing and his resources. Then, he accesses the poor man, broken, hungry, needing medical attention, and a lack of resources. The poor man sat outside of the gate watching. Ask yourself which side of the fence are you on? Either way, if the goal is to glorify God and make disciples, there will be a fence no longer. The gospel should break down these walls of social class. Analyze what fences are up in your life and make the necessary changes to blend the two.
