23 Nov Luke 16:25-26
25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.’
He is basically told, you chose to enjoy what you had on earth while putting your faith and trust in those things. In our society, we want instant gratification and we covet the things of others. This attitude causes one to focus on resources, money, but not the future. This is where the rich man was, he was only worried about the “now” and not how his choices, what he put his faith in determine his future eternity. This is what we must learn. We must look at things from an eternal perspective rather than a “right now” perspective.
