27 Feb Luke 6:46-49

46 “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47 Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

Jesus asked. “Do you want to leave me too?” In John 6:60, His disciples told Him what He said was a difficult teaching. You see, a lot of people want to accept some of the teachings of Jesus, but they criticize others and mainly massage their prejudices on others but, when Jesus gets to the cutting edge of life and starts talking about their problems, things were different. When Jesus demands commitment, holiness, a standard of conduct beyond their reach, or something with which they didn’t agree, or weren’t willing to do like give, serve, sacrifice, or die, they left. There are a lot of folks in this world who have an erroneous view of Jesus. They see Him as kind of a wimp. Well, this wimp said to some who thought their works would save them, “Depart from me…I never knew you.” He said to some who made excuses about why they wouldn’t follow Him. “Follow me and leave the dead to bury the dead.” Following Jesus is not for wimps. If you are not willing to forsake all and follow Him, then you are not a part of His Kingdom. I guess the question is, “Is He your King?” If He is, then put Him on the throne of your heart and do what He says.
