5 Although Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they regarded John as a prophet.

What was Herod hoping to do to John after his imprisonment? Why did he not follow through with his desired actions? Though Herod’s anger motivated him to kill John, his fear of the people prevented him from doing so. Do you ever let anger or fear dictate your decision making?
