29 Sep Proverbs 15:13
A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken.
A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
There is not much that we can control with sickness, but one thing that we can, is our attitude. Many times, we are bitter, upset, angry, and full of questions, especially initially. Here, these proverbs acknowledge the importance of a joyful heart despite our circumstances. This is very difficult to have, but if we are in Christ, then our joy comes from him and not our physical circumstances. We must focus on growing in Jesus and not letting the sickness of our loved ones or our own dictate our walk with Christ.
