11 Mar Romans 8:18-21

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

I read a few years ago that the Bible lists 138 different names for Jesus. How many do you know? Of course, His name is Jesus, but He is also called; Savior, Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed, the Authorized One, the Love of God, the Star of the Morning, the Son of Righteousness, the Cloud of Glory, the Water of Life, the Word, the Root of David, Lord, I Am. He is everything. No one name can tell everything about Him. He is Lamb and Lion at the same time. He is Fire and Water at the same time. He is Cloud. He is Rock. Paul says He has one name above all other names. At the pronouncement of that name, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. The meaning of Lord is “authority”. Jesus is King, Lord, First One, the Maximum Authority. So, the Gospel is a, “Christ—centered” gospel. It seems like preachers today feel the need to offer people incentive to accept Jesus, but we don’t accept Jesus, Jesus accepts us. We surrender to His will by trusting in Him. Now, live your life by faith knowing what you have in Christ and the promises of His word that makes anything we could experience on this earth not worth mentioning compared to the glories that await us.
